Alex Timbers

Alex Timbers is a two-time Tony Award-nominated writer and director known for his ground-breaking stagings of the musicals Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Disney’s Peter and the Starcatcher, David Byrne-Fatboy Slim’s Here Lies Love, Shakespeare in the Park’s Love’s Labour’s Lost and The Pee-wee Herman Show, among countless others. He is most recently represented on Broadway with three record-breaking hits: the musicals Beetlejuice, which received eight Tony Award nominations including Best Musical, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, for which he was recently honoured by the Outer Critics Circle in the ‘Best Director of a Musical’ category and nominated for a 2020 Grammy Award; and David Byrne’s American Utopia.
